Now the schools are back for their new term I've been very busy suggesting planting schemes.
Some schools just need a simple splash of colour for the winter and early spring, and others are requiring complete gardens installing to use for many years to come.
-In order to 'brighten up' the entrance of a school for this time of the year is fairly simple.
Brightly coloured pots with winter pansies, underplanted with Spring bulbs (Narcissus Tete a Tete, Tulip Red Riding Hood) work really well.
We've even suggested Oak Barrells with the metal bands painted in School colours. These are really sustainable as they can be planted with more permenant stock.
-Wildlife gardens are very popular at schools. Even the smallest space can be used to enhance the childrens outdoor activities.
The 'Grow your own' fruit and veg theme has also increased in popularity over the last 5 years, we always recommend some friut trees and herbs in these schemes.
The schools are great fun to work for! It's great to do a project that is appreciated.
