Fruit Trees and Soft Fruit

Our experts grow aproximately 4-500 fruit trees a year on site in our purpose built stock beds. Our range of fruit trees is complemented by sourcing additional varieties from one of the largest fruit tree nurseries in the UK. We carry a great range of Apples,Pears, Plums, Cherries, Damsons, Gages and more! 
There is a range of fruit tree root stocks available from Dwarf to semi-vigorous, perfect for domestic gardens and allotments.
Apples, pears,plums and cherries are also available as ready trained trees. We have an exiting range of Espalier and Fan Trained fruit trees.Soft fruit is available from November onwards. We usually have stock all year round, however due to its popularity stock of soft fruit can become limited in varieties after the Spring. Most raspberry canes, gooseberry bushes and currant bushes are sold as  bare rooted plants during the dormant season, then the remaining soft fruit is potted in March to sell during the Spring and Summer. Blueberries, tayberries, blackberries, jostaberries and strawberries are sold pot grown most of the year round.
You can buy soft fruit as individual plants so you can try them out first before you commit to larger quantites, or if you are limited on space.

Ornamental Trees

Smiths stocks over 500 ornamental trees on the nursery. The largest range is held in the Autumn with the range focused mainly on trees suitable for Domestic gardens. We have a diverse range which are grown for interest at both ends of the growing season. Flowering for Spring and great Autumn colours. There are even a number of trees which will provide both!  

We supply trees in several sizes. The largest range is held in 10-15litre containers. They vary in size depending upon variety, but average 2-2.5m. Larger sizes are also available container grown in a 45 litre. These average 3-4m depending upon variety. A range of these are available from stock, and can also be ordered quickly.
If you require trees even larger, we can source them. However, we would recommend our planting service to handle these. We can also plant the smaller ones if required!

Although we stock many ornamental trees, we are also able to supply native trees. These are available to order in many sizes, so if you have a specific requirements please just ask.

Shrubs

Smith's Nurseries stocks a comprehensive range of shrubs. In the early spring our prodution team pot in excess of 10,000 evergreen shrubs and flowering shrubs in our most popular sizes of 2 or 3 litre pots to provide 80% of the shrub stock required for sale here in the garden centre's retail outlet. 

Shrubs are selected for display when their variety is at their seasonal best. The Spring is a particularly good time to see our wide range of flowering shrubs. Autumn sees the display move towards the evergreen shrubs. Our own prodution of stock is also complimented by selected suppliers of more specialised shrubs such as Japanese Maples, Rhododendrons and Bamboo to name a few.
